Midland compound No 1000 is seen here in October 2012 in the
Museum of Scottish Railways at
Bo'ness. Designed by Samuel Johnson in 1902, renewed as superheated Deeley compound by
Henry Fowler in 1914, the engine was eventually withdrawn and restored to 1914 condition by BR
in 1959. It was on loan from the National Railway Museum but has since left the
Museum of Scottish Railways.
